From the back of the drl female plug, how far back does the loom go in order to be changed, and how easy is the process?

Got a problem on the wifes which may necessitate the changing of it.

It look like the plug John.

Before we bought it, the wheel arch flap had been missing a while, (Now sorted.) allowing water to contaminate the plug. I changed the DRL lens this week for a brand new one, as the pin on the old one that powered the sidelight, was long gone. There appears to be power going to the back of the male plug, (Wire probed where it enters said plug.) but it looks like the terminal inside it, is damaged/corroded, (I will post a pic later.) so no power is then going between the male and female. I am guessing this cannot be repaired?

I wondered how short the section of loom is to replace it, and is it likely to be an easy enough job of plug and play?

It is likely to be part of a large loom covering much or all of the engine bay. A complete loom replacement is expensive, and tedious.

Most plugs and sockets are made to standards. Each vehicle manufacturer will source looms from two or more suppliers, to ensure supply, so connectors must be interchangeable. Although sometimes there are soome odd model or manufacturer specific ones.

Have a look at this. https://www.te.com/usa-en/products/connectors/automotive-connectors.html
Spend a happy hour trawling through to identify the exact one you need. You will see that internal connectors are available separately, along with their tiny seals, so you can effect a repair to one or more terminals only. A bit fiddly under the wheelarch.
Once you've identified what you need, put their part numbers into Google and be amazed at what you can have.
