Hi guys
Here we are again on one of our favorite question areas D R L lights

Got something a bit odd going on with mine
passenger side one has had a habit of blowing bulbs recently( every month or so!) today whilst driving the dreaded triangle came up along with check driving lights message so when got home got out and had a look but the lamp was actually still on! turned car of then re-started and lamp still on and no triangle-all good.

Half an hour later went down the shop and same again warnings up but lamp still on!.

came home and had a look when parked, and lamp out warning still on, turned off ignition then back on again lamp on and no warnings, drove round the block warnings came back up but lamp still on!.

Anyone else experienced this? smacks to me of a loose connection somewhere in the left drl or bulb holder breaking down, however they looked fine when i changed the bulb last month, willing to accept that it might be an internal problem i cant see visually just hoping its the lamp unit and /or wiring related and not the blasted BCM.
any experiences or thoughts on this much appreciated!
cheers all
Steve

Hi John nice to hear from you(was kinda expecting you to jump,on this one!)
both the internal wiring in drl looks sound , the soldered connections to the bulb holders tight and clean and no signs of heat distortion or melting of the bulb holder itself! the external connection for the wiring plug connector clean no corrosion and likewise the plug connector itself showing no visual signs of problems ,the wiring from the connector back into the loom looked ok with no damage to the insulation or anything else visual might have to try tracing it back further i guess! I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar and had tried something that worked to cure it! might go down the route of buying a new pattern D R L and fitting it to see if it makes any difference!.

If you can check when it's out, I'd be tempted to wiggle the cable watching the light to see if there's a internal cable break only takes a small crack for water to seep in, given how thin they are?
I will pull it (AGAIN) when theres a day it aint gonna rain ! might just buy a pattern one anyway and have it here ready so if i find an issue can put it straight in bearing mind they are such a P I T A to get in and out! B l**dy fiats!.
