Technical Drivers Door open on dash

Hi, all my twinair drivers door says open on the dash all the time even though the door is closed, doors wont lock with this going on unless you lock manualy. Any help would be greatfull, thanks.

Get the drivers lock out and clean it thorougly. PLUG IT IN and bench test. Itsprobably dirt and grime stopping micro switches operating properly. You may be able to spray clean in situ which is the first step.

Most likely the switch in the door that activates the internal light is sticking or broken!.
If its stuck open IE-the lamps ON then it will put up the door open message!.
try pressing the switch by hand (thumb) to see if it feels like its working and if you can get the internal lamp to go on and off like that it might start working when you open and shut the door !if not try a new switch

The switch is deep inside the actual lock mechanism itself (like most cars these days, no physical button on the door pillar)
But…that’s probably not where the problem is.
I think there’s an older post about this somewhere where the fault was actually a break in the wires where they pass between the door and the body, near the hinges. (Which prevents the signal from the switch from getting through)

Hi thanks everyone it mwas a broken wire on the door where it enters the door piller black wire. all fixed now tks again.

I had the same problem and the cause was the black wire was broken. After struggling with the soldering iron this is now resolved and no longer get the 'rear door open' warning.

However whilst the other 3 doors now lock with the central locking, the rear right one doesn't.
I can lock by it from the inside.

I couldn't see any other wires damaged.

Does anyone have any suggestion?
