Hi all,

a week ago I bought a second hand Fiat 500X 2017, 1.4 petrol, automatic. I love it! Before I bought it a mechanic checked it and he noted that lane assist is not working and that odometer is flashing, error messages were:
BCM (Body Control Module) 1 problem exist
1.B10AA-4A Check Configuration Failed - Incorrect Component Installed
HALF (Haptical Lane Feedback) 1 problem exist
1.C0546-00 VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) Implausible Or Incompatible From Body Control Module - No Subtype Information

So the dealership brought it in to fix it before the sale. After that the odometer was not flashing anymore, however lane assist still doesn’t work, now it is not even coming up anymore on instrument panel in dashboard. I can find it in radio screen where parking camera is and adjust intensity of it, but I can’t find driver’s assist screen on dashboard and when pressing lane assist button nothing happens.

Worth to note, mechanic did change the tip of the lever where the button is so maybe that could be an issue? Anyone else has had this issue? It doesn’t even show anymore on instrument panel the light that lane assist is not working. Though before it did.

Thank you.

Hello,

Flashing odometer usually means that something has changed on the car's CAN, a module has been changed, or removed. The flashing is being fixed by a procedure called 'proxi alignment' done in MultiEcuScan. It's nothing else than making the CAN system discover all available and compatible modules.

The errors you've pasted confirm that there was one incorrect module (component) installed. And that's why the odometer was flashing.

The question is what they did at the dealership, if the component was removed or replaced (sometimes even simple reconnecting helps).

I'd bring it back to the dealer and ask to properly repair what they tried to repair last time. The car has lane assist so it should be working. And no other problem should be discovered during the error scan.

The last error on the list is very worrying. Looks like the BCM has been changed. I'd check multiple times that it was included in the service history for any further reference and that everything is correct, no errors appear. VIN should be correct as it potentially could generate different problems in the future.

Thank you so much for all the info and help. Dealership was fine to have a look at it, so happy about that.

VIN matches everywhere across user manual and car. Checked that.

Thank you for your support!
