Hi to all - hope someone can help or point me in the right direction!

I have a 2006 Multipla 1.9 JTD and after it warms up for 10- 20 minutes the car starts it's DPF regeneration and white smoke comes out of the exhaust especially when at the lights and it last for some time. it's as if the regeneration process doesn't stop. The DPF light has only come on- it was doing this even with the dpf light off. I have gone to a mechanic who ran an analysis and said that the filter is not blocked but he couldn't fix my problem...can anyone help?? I am going mad!!!

The filter light comes on as a warning to tell you not to stop if there is an issue but I believe the car may regen at times it thinks appropriate by pushing a bit more fuel in if the filter is getting near blocked, the light would come on it it really needed to do a regen, that’s my understanding.

One thing you could do is take it for a higher speed drive at higher revs (so lower gears) for about an half an hour to and hour the higher engine temps of high revs and long journey might just help blow out the filter

Yes they are doing that. Also last time they replaced the glow plugs ( besides 1 which will not budge).

Hi and thanks. I have tried the long drive at higher revs but it just keeps on happening... how often should the dpf be cleaned?? I havent had it cleaned in 4-5 years...could it be that??

The oil quality counter is not to be confused with the distance to next oil change display for the driver.
