Technical Doblo van and huge problems

Hi everyone
My husband has a doblo van he uses for work. It was bought new 4 years ago and has always been ok, until June this year when it wouldnt start.
The Fiat approved garage it was taken to had it at the garage for 11 weeks while they tried to work out what was wrong. In the meantime they changed loads of parts on the engine and a specialist from England and one from Italy looked at it. They finally declared it was the cam followers which they changed and the van was back on the road.
A few days after collection it was back in the garage, this time they said it was the thermostat, which they changed.
Now, 2 weeks later, its back in the gargage. They now tell us the turbocharger has gone.
Fiat arent interested in helping us so I wondered if anyone here would have any clues.

crankshaft position sensor would be top of my list. its a common fault and does not show up on the diagnostic computer so it often fools dealership monkeys.

Yep, Crank sensor would also be my assumption. Fiat diag often codes this as an RPM sensor too

They call it progress Nobody ever had this sort of bother with the old Moggie Minor vans.

Confirmed, this happened to me just last week. Van started to be a pig to start suddenly and the diagnostic computer identified about 5 'faults', only after they were all 'sorted' and the van still wouldn't fire that the crank sensor was replaced.

£400 later and the van seems to be fine for now, although i have certainly fallen out with it!

I fancy another Fiorino...............

Thanks for that everyone. The garage still have it at the moment but I'll suggest to hubby that he mention the crankshaft sensor when he collects it. Any idea how much it costs for a failure report? Be interested in knowing why the turbocharger went after just 47, 000 miles.
