that meaning was not lost at the time. Hence lots of wry smiles when things like " I've given the little growler a good going over this morning" are said in the office

Proud owner of a September 2013 500s in standard specification finished in white....He's been named Luigi (as a homage to the Fiat 500 in the Disney/Pixar film Cars) and wears a very discreet 'bespoke' vinyl graphic, in black, on the lower left hand corner of the hatchback....

I usually make something out of the number plate, my first car (mk3 ford fiesta) was called Thump (also partly because I boshed a bus in it), 107 was called Woj, Gp was called Spiff but my panda is just lovingly referred to as 'the panda'.
My daughter has named our A500 "Stinger", which kind of suits it..

My 500c is named Buddy, because I have always called my daily driver Buddy, for the last 44-years. I do not remember why anymore. I must be getting old.
My little car is Hugo, he's my avatar.
All my fiats has different names, only when it has to go up hill, i call them the same name "c'mon ferrariiiii, you can do this!!!!"
My cars get called something on steep hills too, but unfortunately it cannot be printed here as its a family freindly forum.
Mine's called Valentino, LV in the number plate and he arrived on February the 14th....

We don't normally name our cars, but our 1.2 Pop is 'Poppa'. Named for my dad. Dad's pastel blue 500D started my fascination with small cars and it was so much cooler than other friends' Minis.

It was the Renault 5 advertising which started me off on on the 'name your car' bandwagon - does anyone else remember the "What's yours called?" advertising.
Mine was called Arfur - 'cos it was only 'arfus big as the Granada I drove up & down the motorway most days.

My 156 was Bella, my GQV is Lola and my Arbath is ...RUBY
When I brought Ruby home I had another name in mind but as soon as my wife saw her she said you should call her Ruby. Surprised I asked why ? she said......oh after "Ruby the Heartstealer" a certain young thing that was the downfall of a sad middle-aged Italian chap at the time ...... I loved it !!!! as it works on sooooo many levels - sadly
