I have recently replaced EGR, MAP and MAF and I am still getting the check engine light and my ECU scanner tells me it is P0101 (Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Range/Performance Problem and P0111 (Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction).

The EGR is functioning fine, as far as I'm aware the new MAP is fine and the MAF is a brand new Bosch Part.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what else could be flagging up these problems? The car seems to be running ok other than the cold start taking a little more effort than it should.:bang:

Sounds more like the wiring to the sensors, not the sensors themselves.

Another question on this - if I get the check engine message when I start the car shouldn't I also get the check light on?

The MIL light (check engine light) illuminates when I put the ignition on (as it should) and then goes off when I start the engine. I still get the Check Engine message on the screen though. Isn't that a bit strange - shouldn't I get both, not just the message?

Having same problems on a Ulysse 2.0D 16v I'm working on, tried changing the most common parts, still get p0101.

It's like the turbo isn't working as lacking power but will rev past 3000 rpm so not stuck in limp mode until engine warms up and then accelerates as it should a few minutes after idling.

Have you checked all the pipework leading from air box to turbo etc. I've read that small leaks can cause big problems. I can't see anything obvious with mine but I think that will be my next point of call. So frustrating.

Maybe get a reading from MES.. to give a fuller diagnosis of what is ACTUALLY happening,

Well I've finally got round to using MultiECUScan and it is saying that the ECU is getting no signal from the MAF sensor. Having replaced the MAF with a brand new genuine Bosch part this is certainly looking like an electrical connection problem. Has anybody got any suggestions as to the likely issue with the wiring? Where do I start?

does unplugging it make ANY difference to the engines running,
no difference= ECU sees NO signal.
some difference points to SOME connectivity..,
just a thought..

not really familiar with the bravo's set-up.. but poor ECU to loom connections are not unheard of on older FIATS..maybe do some research for this before pulling earths and looms apart,

are you getting the ARS off , ESP unavailable, Hill etc fault information when the "Check Engine" lights on ? at the same time, the engine won't run higher than 3300 RPM and lack of power when it runs at 3 or 4 gear, still looking for the solution.

No such problems with mine. I got to the bottom of it in the end. When I replaced the EGR valve I must have accidentally pulled out the wired leading to the reverse light switch on the gear box. The wired were shorting causing the fuse to blow. The fuse in question was responsible for reverse light, MAF sensor and Brake pedal switch and this was why I was getting the check engine message. All sorted now.

With your ASR faults it could be an issue with a sensor (such as brake or clutch pedal switch). This may be unrelated to your running problem. Plug it in on MultiECUScan and see what codes you are getting.
