Derren Brown Lottery Theories.

I've often felt there is an element of rigging in the national robbery.
When it started, rollovers were as rare as rocking horse s**t - but the lottery was popular so plenty of profit.
They knew the tease of a rollover would draw additional punters from the chrimbo rollies.
Then, profits started to fall off so they introduce a midweek draw - now we have a rollover almost weekly!

Thing is, by close of play, they know every combo of numbers in play - so they also know every combo NOT in play.
If it is rigged, they could so easily draw combos not in play to give the rollover.

Also, the balls are 'bubbling' away in the drum then a tube comes up to lift a ball.
Anyone play tha kid's game where you catch the ball in the cup? bounces out a fair bit doesn't it?
Always amazes me how the ball stays on the rising tube.
Good theory.

Also consider there are 14 million combinations, which means the lottery would be won every week if 14 million lines were put on per draw and they were all unique. I DON'T THINK SO.

Chances are only about 10-11 million combinations are put on per draw. which makes it a 3 or 4 out of 14 chance it will be a rollover, seems more likely now eh?

And as for the midweek draw, yes they introduced it for sly reasons but not the ones you were thinking. They realised not many people would play it compared to the main Sat draw which (as you correctly pointed out) means more rollovers on Saturdays.

So the lottery isn't fixed, its just marketed to maximise profits, nothing wrong with good business. And even if it was fixed, who cares, it makes people millionaires but mainly it helps out with charities all over the world, can't fault a company who gives that much.

As for Darren Brown, yes he is cocky but rightfully so, he is a genius. No he didn't predict the lottery numbers but he got the WHOLE nation talking about it. Besides we shall see on Wednesday when he GLUES YOU ALL TO YOUR SEATS :D

I bet Wednesday's programme involves downing a bottle of vodka.

Or double-sided sticky tape.

Oh, and the government also makes a wad of cash from the lottery, it's not all for good causes. Some of the causes aren't so good either.

It's a tax on hope.

Fibre optics into the balls on the stand.
They weren't turned until after the draw.
Off screen computer link to iluminate the correct number on each ball.

Then rota, the ball where never removed from the stand.

They are all illusionist, or to put it another wat....frauds of a sort
