First time posting so sorry if I'm doing this wrong.
My daughter had her inner cv boot changed by a friend who is a mechanic and does work on the side. Immediately after car put back together and the engine started her steering/wheels turns full lock to the right and solid red light on dash.

Any idea why this happening? Obviously not getting anywhere with the friend or garage in admitting possible fault or what the issue actually is.

This issue is normaly related to a misalignment of the sensor disc in the power steering. I can't tell you how this relates to the repair done on the boot. Perhaps the steering electronics can be recalibrated with mes or any other workshop diagnostic tools.
I myself have renewed the sensor disc in wifes Lancia Ypsilon and it was a great issue to be obeyed. After repair with wheels jacked up the steering turned to one side, but with the wheels on the ground and when driving the car ran straight, but steering to the left felt easier than to the right. After I had purchased mes I did an alignment of the power steering which fixed this issue.
