Has anyone done a 2l 20v turbo conversion in to the stilo or know anything about it? cant see any obvious topics about this specific topic only dax's 2.4 turbo effort? any info much appreciated (y)

I think this is what you were talking about slightly diff engines but the idea is the same......IMO there is no point it will cost a heck of a lot and then all the other things you'll have to do VIC, ins, not, dvla re-registering the vehicle etc

Also, I'd class that thread as the 'easy' option. :ROFLMAO:

Would involve far more work (basically I don't think its ever been done :chin:) if not fitting an engine that is not already part of the Stilo range.

oh it's doable if you've got around 3-5k to spare (depending on your technical ability) and are willing to pay over the ods to insure your hotrod

im not the one with great technical ability to be honest, it would be my mates garage that would do it, im just trying to gauge how difficult it would be , cost etc. can you tell me what exactly would i be paying 3-5 grand for if its just going to drop in?

All you keep is the shell.. You replace everything else.. So work out the cost of getting a complete donor vehicle, dropping everything but the shell from yours and then grafting everything on.. If it were easy (or practical) everyone would be doing it.. As it is, you have a site full of people (and some here have a lot of expertise and skill) but no one has done it.. Although a few Greek guys have/come close (and did quite a few swaps.. but i think money/skill was no issue there). Beyond that – use search dude.. You are not the first person to pose this question

As said in the thread I linked you............It is a pointless exercise......Other than the expertise it won't be worth it in the end unless you keep the car in the family.....Insuring it will be pretty much impossible as you will need an engineers report to say it's good then all the necessary paper work...If I were you I'd get somet like a Schui as they're around 4k going up.

These are the facts abarth/schui 170bhp group 15ins 4k going up:cool:(y)
Coupe turbo 2l 220bhp 20v on a V plate 1.5k then the work and extras (n) and 3k won't cover it

Just buy an abarth/schui

yeh i hear what your saying mate and your exactly right i just wasnt too sure what it would cost etc. its already remapped and gsr'd :)

In that case I think you're done the only other thing you can do is strip down to shed weight but again it won't be much of a car after. Go get yourself this or this or this they are what I'd call sex on wheels

novitec (Germany) used to do a supercharger for your engine (however to get any sort of decent boost you would need the complete kit with pistons rods etc. if not looking to rebuild the engine - you should be okish up to +20% although your engine is a bit old.. unless under 10k the company won't do the install sfar as i remember + it won't last long without serious mods to the innards) if you're interested the kit was about £2500 - £3000 (am quite certain you can get via a special order as long as you agree to no warranty of any kind)
