General Cornering Lights

WTF is all that about then? :bang::bang:

Took delivery of a 150 MultiJet Dynamic on Tuesday. Drove it for the first time at night yesterday and indicated and turned and thought what's going on? I could see "other" lights appearing outside the car.

At first I thought there was a problem but it dawned on me what it was. Got home and read about it in the manual.

One question..... WHY?

God-damn so annoying. They didn't tell me that little detail when I bought it did they? :bang:

Apart from that it's a bl**dy great motor. Especially at the knock down price I paid for it.

Let's just see if it lasts as long as my Focus did without having any major problems.

merc's have them

its more to do with the headlight design you can turn them off IIRC through the menu do a search its been covered before

i find it well useful!!

i have to pull n our house which now that dads done up with his fancy gate... different heights of wall... gravel etc... any added light is a bonus

also if your doing a turn in the road down a country lane/narrow car park or somthing you can see the angle of the front of your car

Page 56 of the English Owners Handbook gives NO instructions re turning the function on or off.

Try cornering at more than 40 kph. They only work at slower than that.

Other than that, it may just be a relay that can be removed, plus, possibly a bit of rewiring.

I did not know about this function when I test drove the Bravo a few days back, but I discovered it as I parked with the engine idling and wheels to the one side First I tought one of the lamps where blown, but then I remebered seeing a Mercedes a few days before with this function So at night I tried it and what a difference it made Going around corneres and can actually see where I am going before the nose of the car has reached that direction I love it!!!!! Great safety thing!!!! For spotting cats, dogs, kids etc going around a corner And it looks cool:slayer: I will for sure not turn it off when I get my new car in december/january:yum:

Cornering Lights seems like a good idea. Did not know the Bravo has them. Is it all trim levels, or only some?

I believe some of the new renaults have adaptive lighting which I guess is the same but with more bits to go wrong where the headlight actually swivels on cornering. Actually I am sure there was a Citreon in the 70's that had a similair system.

Some of the Cilo's have them (the 2006> current shape) built into the main headlamp unit. Has the Bravo got them in the fogs? Are they seperate bulbs in the fog lamp housing

I dont know... yet... I pick my Bravo up on Monday!

From what I can gather its just the foglight that comes on depending on which way you are turning.

I'm not seeing the issue with them...I don't actually notice them in mine, but my mates phone to tell me a light is blown - so I know they are working.

Why is it annoying you? You seemed to have ranted about them but not explained why they are annoying you...are you looking to find something to complain about as the rest of the car is good or is it a genuine grumble?

I guess the solution is simple - drive faster so they don't come on!

Fiat's system activates the front foglamp on the side where the extra light is needed (the reflector lense is designed to throw light to the side as well as forward, so no extra bulbs or moving parts).

It's software-controlled so you can't remove relays to disable it without diabling the front fogs permanently.

IIRC it requires the Examiner diagnostic machine to switch the cornering lamps off, though I've not had to do it yet.

It ain`t long before there is dark between 15.00 and 10.00 But they for sure will have a job to do then
