I am little worried of this - not updating issue I have with the unit ..... - I assume this can not be related to the missing 12V issue ? and it might be the laser cannot read the disc ?

I will fix the 12V issue next week for sure when the original CD arrive, just dont want to use too much time if my navi is faulty (so wanna try the original CD inside first - good idea ? )

PS: Did you see my msg regarding the mic ? does it come fully plugged or hows the wirering ?

As I said on your other thread, the first step of using the Setup disc is to switch the ignition on, so this could be the reason the Setup disc is not working.

The CAN connection will only work with the 12 volt ignition supply connected.

From your picture on your other thread, the ignition supply "Segnale Chiave" (Key Signal) and "Rete CAN" (CAN network) are not connected or not switched on.

It's likely to be the same reason the map doesn't update correctly.

The car is usually stationary when the ignition is switched off, so the CN+ doesn't need to navigate anywhere. Without the 12v ignition feed, the CN+ thinks the car is stationary, so the module that compares GPS signals with the map data will not be working correctly.

There's a short paragraph in the Bravo Connect Nav+ manual that gives another example of when this happens. It would be the same if the car was moved on a truck with the ignition switched off.

In your situation (without the 12v ignition feed) the GPS receiver knows the car is moving but the module that converts the signals thinks you're not, so your CN+ takes longer to update it's position.

When you get the 12v ignition feed connected, we will know for sure if this is the problem, so we won't need to keep going over the same problem on 2 different threads.

Yes, we will. Until it is not done, it won't work properly.

Davren is right. The navigator uses the speed signal and steering signals from BC via canbus. Not only the gps signal. I used it, while I didn't have an antenna.

Sorry mate, I'm not sure, that I understand the question.
The downloaded G2 map? There wasn't roads, just borders.

White connector, pin 9 and 18 (last ones above eachother).

I use the original bravo interior light with mic (suggested the sport/emotion version with LED's) I haven't tried any other type mic.

When you connect the ignition switched 12V, can connection is activated, the ECU's will see, there is a new canbus part. They will communicate, work properly, just the odometer is flashing. To solve it, you have to option:
- Time delay to the ignition switched 12V line ( it will switch the 12V to the CN+ after the BC power up test, about 4sec delay).
- Doing the proxy alignment. This is better solution. After it a few more feature will be available, than by the previus (relay) solution.
Forexample the phone call info on the ODO screen.

You have to install wires from the mic connector to CN+ white connector.

Nothing special, just run FES proxy alignment. It took on my car about 20-30sec.

Have you already download FES? If yes, run it in test mode. (Ctrl+ function button), you will see in car connection simulated.

hi just a question i've currently got blue and me in my bravo with all the mics etc, does the connect nav plus have blue and me built in to it is there any need for you to put a seperate sim card into the unit? plus i'm assuming the car with blue and me already has a gsm antenna? thanks

Blue and me works off the bluetooth connection with your phone, so your car will not have a GSM antenna installed just because you have blue and me. Blue and me and connect nav + are two very different things!

Hi,

Got the 12V fixed today at my local Fiat dealer, the original CD is spinning now and guess what ??? its now updating map like it should - so I am happy Also the original setup CD worked flawless !

The ODO is flashing now though, and Fiat could not handle that making proxy allignment with their own software, amazing but true, so gotta order the wire and download the Fiat ECU program to fix it I guess. Hope that will work ...

But we are very near all is fixed now --- JUHUUU !!! :slayer:

Yup, will do that time delay thing if the FES alignment wont do the job ...

And for the others questioning if the Connect Navi is nice compared to a double DIN aftermarket. I can say myself: I really like and apreciate the unit, it looks so smooth and original in the dashboard. Also the GSM function with SIM I use now and like a lot ... I like the setup and the operation of the unit as well...

I also mounted a CD-changer emulator, a small box so it can read USB sticks and memorycards with MP3 etc, and it have an AUX input as well, cost 50 EURO for a box doing that on Ebay..... plug and play direct in the back of the unit.

So the ones who consider doing the same: you might use some time on it, but it will pay back in the end.

Ok guys,

Finally the cable arrived (OBD ELM327 cable with blue text on the box, 1.4B version) ... and I have now been able to connect to the ECU.

Had some problems installing the correct drivers (no windows drivers on the installation disc). Managed it, and always got "time out" when trying to connect to the cable running the test... then I found out that the cable have to be plugged into the car as well to manage the test ... done that and wupti the chrismastree was ligtning on the plug.... didnt need any modification, run the proxy allignment and now the ODO is not flashing anymore and all is running flawless....

TASK DONE.... thanx a lot Now finally I can enjoy my Connect Navi 100% and I do
