Hello had a red warning saying transmission. So pulled over called AA and on his machine he got an error saying. Clutch: actual position signal higher than expected

Anyone had this and could let me know what to expect?

Many thanks

Don't know specifically about your model , but generally as the clutch wears with self adjusting set ups , the pedal gets higher, up to a point where if you try to lift the pedal higher still it cannot go any further, then the clutch starts to slip.
In the old days you could adjust the travel manually, so if it got towards the end of travel I would warn customers that they would soon need a new clutch.
Some makes have a sensor that detects the pedal position.
I had a customer with a Citroen that had recently had a new clutch at the Dealers, whilst checking an electrical error code I found a different one regarding the pedal position (no warning on dash) the customer was happy for me to delete this code and later came back to me saying the car was going much faster.
The reason being as the clutch wore down towards end of life the ECU "detuned" the car to make the clutch last a bit longer.
The Dealer should have deleted that code when fitting the clutch to return normal performance! :)
