Hi all,

Randomly going down the motorway the other day a message pops up on the dash Check Brake Control and a red symbol appears the car has auto turn off the system. I have ran a scan and can only get a fault codes;

D40586
U1930-86 this said pending
U1932-86 this one said stored

I have had the battery off over night, been on several runs in it and just can't get it off.

Can anyone shed any light on what the fault is?

I have 2017 1.4 Tipo easy.

Thanks
Dean

With those codes they don't really help much was this on a generic code reader rather then something that can give more detailed reading's for fiats codes?
Hi,

Was just a generic Delphi code reader. They were reset and a week later still not coming back up as fault codes but still have the same message on the dash check brake control.

I have had the front cover of the radar sensor off and cleaned that also to no avail.

Could this be triggered by low pads triggering the system to stop working?

Thanks
Dean

I don't think that would have caused the issues but with modern cara you can never know

Hi,

Have had the scanning re-run and this time is pulled to specific fault codes under the ADAS catagory

C1417-78 - Horizontal Misalignment Sensor - Alignment or Adjustment Inc - Pending
C1418-78 - Vertical Misalignment Sensor - Alignment or Adjustment Inc - Pending

Is this a faulty sensor or just in need of some alignment.

Thanks
Dean

I had something similar on mine, randomly came on when driving, after a clean it worked, then I crashed and it stopped working. I'd suggest if this is still an issue, get a garage to test the sensor. I've just been quoted £800+ for a new one...

Hi,
Did you get it sorted? My 500x has a similar problem and it needs an MOT now so I must sort it because I dont think they will pass it with this big orange light on! When the large light goes out there is still a small one on the left saying the forward colision system is off

Mine has The following read out

Hardware number: MRR1_0 - Ver: 00
Software number: 1037601851 - Ver: 0603
Errors found:
C1417-78 - Horizontal misalignment sensor - Alignment or adjustment incorrect
C1409-97 - Radar blinded/obstructed/blocked - Component or system operation obstructed or blocked
C141F-96 - Control unit faulty (Microprocessor) - Component internal failure

Just a quick update on this.
Playing with the iCarsoft thing seemed to succeed in turning it off. However, after about 20 miles it came back on.

For what its worth I went to Fiat Epsom to see if they knew about it and if there is any update etc. It was quite an amazing experience. I have never seen such a bunch of useless bods! I went in the service area and there was not 1 but FIVE desks which all had staff sitting waiting for a customet to walk in. Maybe I chose the wrong one but she was so dismissive and unhelpful. 'Well if you didnt buy it from us you will have to go back to where you got it (thats when I was asking if I could see the service history)

When I asked if this was a known issue and if there is any update in software 'We wouldnt know .... if you book it in for a full service, we will plug the machines in and that will tell us if there is any update....'

Perhaps I should have just found the actual workshop and walked in and asked someone.

When she asked what made me think there maybe an update, I told her it was information I got from a forum she smirked and said 'Oh well, what do you expect?! If you are going to look online you will get all sorts of wrong answers'. Perhaps they are on commission for how many people they can get booked in for as bigger job as possible!
