Hi, everybody
I need your help!!!
Maybe someone has encountered. I have Alfa Romeo Mito 1.3 multijet 62KW/ 84HP engine code 199b4000. Basically a Fiat. I need to replace the particulate filter (OEM 55230850). Will the particulate filter from the engine 1.3 multijet 70KW/ 95HP (OEM 55234961) fit my engine?

I have tried to criss reference those part numbers to each other and they do not match.

You better find a replacement for the part number you have.

Some people have successfully cleaned the dpf, told the engine ecu that a new dpf fitted and successfully fixed problems.

Has a mechanic told you you need a new dpf ?

Yeah, because it's not there ((
The previous owner was very sneaky. This is my first car. And the car drives fine, I didn't even notice it was gone.

Would this particulate filter (Cordierite material) be ok for short trips?

no dpf will cope with repeated short trips. Repeated short trips do not allow the dpf to go through a regeneration cycle.

you may need to buy the dpf pressure sensors as well if they were also removed.

If your car is not showing any fault light or lights then the ecu has most likey been reprogrammed to ignor the dpf removal.
If that has been done you will need the ecu programmed back to standard or the dpf will never regenerate(fill very quickly)

If you can't find someone to put your ecu back to standard the other option is a used ecu from identical car but that will need programming to work with the imobiliser system in car.

Yes, I realize that. But which of these two materials in the filters is better? I don't drive much.

I drive on the highways several times a week. I think that should be enough for him.

Hi ,

I am sorry I have no information about the construction of dpf .

If you don't drive much and potentially other issues getting car back to standard perhaps the cheap option?

You are clearly an intelligent person you will probably find the answers to dpf construction differences. If you do please post a summary of what is best for different conditions.

Best wishes

Jack
