It was MOT time today, and as I expected, the handbrake on my 05 821 tag let me down.
Here's the dope off the roller test-axle 2, 67kg n/s, 183kg o/s. Axle 3, 60kg n/s, 95kg o/s. System efficiency 8%! So I'm looking for someone who can sort this out for me before the next 2 weeks is up, and seek recommendations please.
I am in south Cheshire, but don't mind a sensible travelling distance. A mobile service might do if available and knows what's what with these.
Had advisories before, and has always been a pass, only needing 2 adjustments in 12 years....however, last year, it had new handbrake shoes, and setup by someone who should know what he was doing.
It never felt as good after that, needing more clicks than previously to hold it.
I know the official Fiat method, starting at the shoes and working along to the lever. Been done, allegedly, but it's bitten me this time! Over to you folks for experiences and ideas for a competent service place!
