Technical Broken exhaust manifold studs, best approach?

That engine is nice and clean/rust free, ours when I did the water pipe chunks of rust fell off

Then the sump really didn’t want to leave the party!

It can be a real bitch to get off and cleaned up

Yes it certainly took a good while!
Stanley place and a selection of spinny wire wheels in the drill seem to have done a decent job of cleaning the block but it’s taken ages! The ends are a particular joy!
I almost daren’t put the new sump on in case it the joint leaks!!
