This is a hell of an expensive way of fixing that issue though.
Worse, it'll introduce a new set of problems; by all accounts the rear discs on models so equipped are well known for seizing up and other corrosion related issues.

At least the drum setup has some measure of protection from the elements (unless you take it swimming!). Keeping the moving parts lubricated certainly helps.

My TA had discs all round and the 1.2s have drums. There is no noticable difference in braking performance except the TA hand brake is less effective. i do share th OP's hate of the so called self adjusters though. This is a hell of an expensive way of fixing that issue though.
I doubt you would notice any difference in just 'normal' braking that is how brakes work.... my requirement is to maintain the braking performance in a very hilly environment, brakes getting used a lot, so getting rid of the heat and maintaining the balance is what I'm trying to achieve. From some of the posts it looks like some people have already done this, I was going to do it anyway, but the advice so far has saved me many hours of research, trial and development. This is great forum experience, so thanks for the assistance. As for the expense, I don't think it will be too much, the rear beam needed to be replaced anyway, new disk / calipers, fairly cheep, anyway, I'm a retired engineer, I love doing this sort of stuff, we didn't go to the moon 'cos it was cheep or easy, it was a challenge and a puzzle and I do it 'cos I want to...and to just get rid of those stupid self adjusters !!!

Well good luck. Seeif you can take a fewpics anf let us know how it goes. Look out for caliper dampers which have a lot of history on here. They reduce rear brake groans, seemingly effectively. Some cheap ones recently on Mopar.co.uk shop.
