General Bonnet respray cost?
Sounds about right to me. I had a car vandalised once, quote for new bonnet £500, quote to fix old one and respray £450, writing the car off a week later before i had decided, priceless! 
I paid £330 for a pair of wings, front bumper and part of the bonnet resprayed on a Panda but wasn't a professional job, friend paid £150 for a wing on a 206. It varys. For that price I'd hope that they're blending the wings and 'a' pillars and possible the doors for the paint job to not look out of place.
Metallic or 'flat'?
I don't think the metallic pain on a bonnet ever look as if it matches the wings (as the light hits it at a different angle!)
If it's flat then could you not do this yourself as we now have the weather for it?
I'd be tempted to remove the bonnet & do the job indoors/shed/garage away from midges.

I paid £130 to have my bonnet resprayed...
I got it done as I had a couple of small stone chips which were annoying me, and also because I had to get the wing rubbed down to remove a big dent and scratch and a new bumper as a bit had been knocked out of it thanks to some nice people firing stones...

first question is why are you wanting it respraying? is it damaged? a scratch? stone chips? depending on why your painting it will depend on cost, if you were to come to our body shop with say stonechips and wanted the bonnet repainting an average cost is £220+vat, depending on how far up the stonechips went (if they went close to the wings,in which case we'd blend the colour into the wings) if we were to blend into the wings then would be in the region of £250+vat, £450 is seriously steep and sounds like main dealer sort of money and to be honest main dealers dont always mean the best job, we reguarly do work (and rectification work) for Audi, volvo, renault, nissan and hyundai, best to find a shop that you have seen work of before that way you know youl be happy with it
