Hi, I've recently come to find that my muffler and the pipe leading to the centre pipe has become extremely rotten... blowing, Peeing out water where it connects, my question is I plan to replace it with a sport muffler because for one I like being able to see an exhaust on a car and I'd like my car to sound like it's got abit more umph than it has, also possible a new filter? I've heard to avoid K&N, I'd prefer a panel filter as well, I don't want the performance lose, it's only a 1.2 8V it's slow enough as it is :p

Hi mate,

Sportex exhausts are fairly cheap/ commonly used on puntos. They do a few different styles that are direct replacement. Have a look on ebay and at the Sportex website for inspiration. If you can aford it though, a good quality stainless system will last the life of the car, and there are also places that will custom make them for you and you can pick the type of sound and loudness that you want.

Re the air filter. If you dont want to go down the induction kit route, then a K&N panel filter would be fine. Its more the induction kits that people don't recommend as they sit at the top of the engine and suck in warm air. You could also consider PiperCross, Simota, Green etc panel filter.

Hope that helps,
Alan

Sportex - I just ordered one for myself, I got the 3" tip one. Have a look on youtube to see what they sound like.
