Technical Battery replacement

Hi, which battery would people recommend for my Fiat 500L 2014
1.6 Diesel?
I don't know if it has the original battery, it had an extensive history and receipts for everything but nothing for a battery.
If it is the original it has done exceptionally well, I doubt it but who knows.
The stop start does not work but it doesn't say it is unavailable.
I have been looking at a Varta, would anyone know if this one is the one that fits

Or I can get the original Magneti Marelli one.
If anyone knows the correct dimensions of the battery it would help a lot too.
The only dimensions i can find that say is correct 175mm W, height 190mm H and height 278mm L

Look in the manual to see the original battery spec.

Hi, i bought a new battery from Tanya batteries, an EFB, although they said an AGM would be fine under the bonnet.
Varta did only recommend the EFB so I went with that.
Can you change the battery without losing any memory?
Or do you have to take special precautions. I have read as many posts but they were for later or different cars, mine is 2014 1.6 diesel.

It WILL zero the clock, and trip distances,so MPG figures etc

Radio stations MIGHT be wiped

Radio Code should be fine,
As the Body Computer should store it's info


If you are concerned you could always try a supply to the 12volt socket near the gear lever..

I did that on my old 1999 estatecar

Haven't bothered with "modern". Kit

Will do, the stop start has never worked, but it never says it is unavailable or has a fault, although I don't use it as for the driving i do.
So it will be interesting to see if it works with a new battery.
The present battery starts the car but labours if left for a few days.
Mot and service next month.
Hopefully i can enjoy the car then with no worry.

Hi varesecrazy,
You was right the millage and other things like the radio stations, date and time.
I managed to set the time, radio.But the mileage readings in the dash are all over the place and it has a square on the last digit.
Will this all settle down and go to as it was before?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks
