Technical battery bracket loose?

Hi, just replaced stock battery which was BTW kinda small for such car (pic below) and with new bigger battery I have very loose bracket that screw on top. What''s the trick here? New Exide battery is just longer but height and width is the same

Looks about right. Just turn the nut till the clamp presses lightly on the battery - not too tight. Just enough to stop the battery sliding about and keep it in place if the van rolls over.
Its designed so you can't tighten it so hard you damage the battery or the box - both are only thin plastic. But if its very loose you could put a bit of soft packing in.
