General AUX input - RESULT

My stereo is fine for what I want, I can listen to what I want to, without inflicting it on others!

Trev

Difference is Trev, if like me, as long as your next to a boy racer in the traffic they will never assume its you.

Like me, you ever seen a standard looking Stilo with?

great news. does it find its way down there through a combination of dangling and waggling from above? or should I do it from below?

Oh, and having the pins and the pin diagram means nothing! I have them and I cant get AUX up when the thing is plugged in and ipod turned on.(n)
The centre block is phone mute. The block the other side is "booster". The green wire isn't needed for normal functions at all (I've got it unplugged currently as a result of not being able to get the dang things out again...)

Pondweed - at last someone who has the same issue as me! Totally agree, it's not only what the unit says on the back in terms of pin-outs that matters, you need the firmware to enable AUX via the CD button. Neither my original non-MP3 HU (Jul-06 4x4), nor my Italian eBay MP-3 compatible purchase have any AUX functionality whatsoever. All very frustrating.

As usual my local Fiat dealers are clueless when it comes moving this forward, so unless anyone here has had a good experience from a dealer with the knowledge to fix this stuff properly, then I am damned to a life of crackly FM-transmission or forced to spend hours writing MP3 onto CD, all of which is an ar$e.

Any ideas?

Apologies for the cross-post, but I will ask about AUX under another thread too.

Thanks,

Phil G

sadly its not really in the dealers interest. That's why they clamped down on such ruses in the first place - so they keep up their market share for plug in stuff.
What we need is an unhappy person who works in a dealer:rolleyes:but would secretly like to empower the owners....and change the world.(y)

hi just got my new panda 100hp last week love it just wounderin about the aux thing on the headunit mine has the option when the cd button in pressed but input wire that i can see can some one explain pls

For connecting a IPod or somthing like it.
The best is to install an ICE link...
I've tried my IPhone on a 3,5mm cable and it was rubbish.
The Dension ICE link sounded like a CD. And not like an oldfashioned turntable.
It's connected by an Car2Iso2Car cable to the original radio.

I've got an Sony aftermarket radio, so I need a Ipod interface XA110IP.
It is the same idea as the ICE link.

I don't get why it should sound any better....?

It's not like the ICE lead is a digital connection....

I thought it was basically the same kind of lead, but with the the extra ipod functionality....?

Can you change the 3.5mm socket output to LINE OUT in an ipod?

If not, you will be amplifying an already amplified signal hence the harsh sound....

The 3,5mm jack is a very unstable connection.
When you wiggle the cable a bit it will make a crackling sound like an old turntable. I've tried a 3,5mm to 3,5mm cable on my Sony aftermarket radio(front input).

It is possible that the Blaupunkt is better because of the different connection in to the radio..

Last week we did a Ford Focus wagon with an ICE Link.
It had the W6000 CD-player in it. It sounded soooo much better.
Just like it should be and not like if you play an 96k file on your computer.
And you can control your Ipod with the radio.

So i've bought an IPod connector right now beacause of my aftermarket radio.
