Introduction

Been on this forum for a while now!

Dont post alot or come on very often but i thought id update you with how my motor looks atm!

Finally got my deep dish porcshe wheel fitted a few weeks ago.

and have put in a lether interior from out of a Alfa Romeo 147
(just need doo cards re-trimmed to match)

to shut you all up heres what you need to do to get a 1.8 in and running.....

Buy the engine, with loom, manifold, ecu, gearbox, fuse box and all the usual ancillaries,

you also need hubs, driveshafts and rear beam if you want to have a complete hgt setup.

remove the dash as you will need to change the internal loom and the clocks.

put the internals in first then put the engine in link everything together and pray to god it fires and idle's first time!

its not overly difficult, just the same as what i did but would take about a week to get it up and running as apposed to the 8 hours is took to do this swap!

thats just off the top of my head but when your actually doing it you come across more things!

And just for the record i am going HGT in the winter, this swap was just to see me through the rest of the show season with a little more added power, i needed a simple enough swap to ensure i could make it to modified nationals this weekend!

Ill get some pics up when i have some time as im rushed off my feet getting bits back to put on my car for mod nats!

But yeah i did explain before its a 1.4 block with a 1.2 head and yes its stayed as an 8v for the time being!

Theres a noticable amount of power gain through first and second but dies off through 4th and 5th!

Am just woundering why did you just get the 1.4 8v engine off a new punto ?

Yeah it will give decent power :).

But with such pretty paint work ... wouldn't drive fast tho ...

2nd car you have said this on, why cant he drive it quickly because of the paint?
