I carelessly grazed about 8" of the rim on my Abarth today  It has the highly polished multispoke wheels which I have heard are not easily repaired as they are not painted. Any recommendations on how to get repaired or indeed if they can be repaired, and will it have to be off road for a while if the mobile repairers can't be used?

I recently did the same while avoiding a nutter coming the other way. It's a heartbreaker for sure. Anyway, I asked a friend of mine who has a chipsaway franchise what could be done. He said he was going on a course to do these repairs. I'll ask him how that went when I see him this week.

Pristine wheels in Woburn Sands near Milton Keynes are very good worth giving them a call.

did the same to mine against a kerb after a couple weeks owning it. was horrified, but got a quote for £65 for the repair from a place in tewkesbury (would have only been £45 had the wheels not been polished).

they did a fantastic job and despite warning me it might not be perfect, i couldnt see a mark after they'd finished. so long as its not too deep its not a problem at all.

needless to say, my abarth is often about 2 or 3 feet away from the kerb now :)

also, they pointed out how soft these wheels are - the slightest touch against a kerb or anything will graze them..and with no rim protector tyres on by default its very easily done.

im replacing my tyres with the goodyear eagle F1's when they're due for a change - these are great tyres anyway, and they have a protector on them which would help big time for the protruding rim of the abarth wheels.
