Hi folks, none my car doors will open from inside and out except on drivers door(door only opens using physical key) on Fiat 500x 2017. When i press unlock on the fob the lights come on but i cannot here the car lock mechanism, when i press lock then i here the mechanism.
Already tried changing the battery in the remote, replacing the central locking fuse and a reset of the system by disconnecting the car battery. As i am here nothing worked!

Any ideas?

Do you have the Keyless system with the Start/Stop dashboard button?

If you have the keyless version then try turning off the smart/keyless sense entry system/function. This can be done in the verhicle settings on the uConnect.

The reason I say this is that the deadlocks may be automatically setting which will disable the internal door open buttons. This is a starting point for your safety.

I can't say what the normal/usual operation is on later 2015 X vehicles but on my 2015 Fiat changed the software to dangerously (IMHO) to automatically set the deadloacks when the smart entry system was enabled and your pressed the little door handle button. I locked my wife in the car a couple of times so I turned the keyless entry/exit. To set the deadlocks on my car I have to double press the key fob lock button.

I complained to Fiat on safety grounds as it became so easy after their software update to unwittingly lock people in the car, especiallyas when I was working I only used the car and got used to just pushing the door button out of habbit.

Hi,

Thanks s130

Its not the keyless version/no StopStart button. I use a metal key for ignition.

I have tried double press on fob which gives no joy

In that case do the doors not open from the inside when you activate the door controls?

The way these normally work (on my 500X as i recall) is the door open control mechanically activates the lock mechanism via a linkage rod. This opens the door but also moves the door solenoid which then signals to the other door solenoids. Sticking solenoid(s) or broken wire(s) disrupts the whole process. You might not hear the usual "clunk/click" but there may be a faint "trying to work" sound.

Correct the inside door controls will not open any door. All i can do is lock the drivers door but then it wont unlock (I do hear very faint sound when pressing unlock) and i have to hang my arm out the window with the key to get out.
I'm thinking to take off the drivers door panel to have a look if anything looks obvious with the door solenoid. I think that may be my best bet right?

This suggests to me that the deadlocks are engaged and thus not allowing internal operation. In cases like this then the emergency master key should open the driver's door and in doing so move//trigger the solenoid to also then trigger the other door solenoids.

Driver's door is where I would start as well. Initially check that the door arm rest controls operate the 4 door windows. Also there is a lock/unlock button (I think, or is it a rear window lock control). Failures here might indicate that the driver's door jam cable harness has some broken wires. Also I would try WD40 into the driver's door key entry and around it and with the door open the door latch mechanism. Even manually operating the door lock moving catch arm.

Unlike older cars with simple lock/solenoin access once the door card is removed moder cars have an additional almost full frame metal sub assembly behind the card which is why I suggest all external tests etc. That said I think you will have to go deeper.
