General Accelerator pedal?

Our 59 plate 1.2 pop drives fine, but even when we just bought it(Nov 15) I noticed a strange pedal action.
I've found I cannot gently increase the revs in neutral, it goes from idle to say 1000, then its straight up to 2000 RPM, a fraction of lift on the pedal results to falling back to idle nothing in between, Ok strange but does not seem to effect driving.
Yesterday waiting to collect the little one, I tried again, this time it went to 2000 but I was able to drop it to 1500, took my foot off the pedal, looked back 10 seconds later and it was still at 1500 checked the pedal was fully up, blipped the pedal and it dropped back to idle, tried again and the same thing.

Is it the pedal position sensor and should I just leave alone until it does effect driving?

If it's the TPS you should have a pending code stored on the ECU.

Modern cars can have some pretty weird programming, if it works correctly clutch in and in 1st it's likely the way it's supposed to be.

It was in neutral, I'll try that and see if it's any different but will leave be until something crops up.
