Technical 8v middle silencer/pipe on 16v 1.4 Punto ?

Hi Guys

i have a novitec exhaust on my 1.4 16v but i must say the sound is annoying perhaps only a bit louder than the Original Exhaust.

Now my Question is :

My 1.4 16V has a middle silencer and the 8V doesnt have this silencer in the middle will the middle silencer/pipe from the 8v fit on my 1.4 16v ?

the reason why i want to try this think is that after i got an K & N the sound is not louder and without the middle silencer i will get a louder sound out of my exhaust but will the 8v fit on my 1.4 16v ?

Hi! (Sorry that no-one's replied sooner... -- and your English is perfect: certainly a lot better than my very rusty German...!)

I know that you can remove the middle box from the 1.2 16v exhaust; and the 1.4 isn't that different. However, rather than use the pipe from an 8v, it would probably be better to get a local exhaust specialist to make/supply the correct one for you, along with a good-quality back-box.

Not really my area of specialism, I'm afraid. My car is extremely standard....

Answer was No it wont fit, the 1.4 exhaust sytem is totaly differnt to the
1.2 8v and 16v.

You could cut a section out of the middle pipe and visit you friendly local exhaust dealer for a repair silencer that uses the same diameter tubing wouldn't cost huge amounts but you'd need a friend who can weld or pay a garage to weld it

The 1.4 is on ordinary cat, not like 8v/16v iirc

so if exhaust is cut and modified your doing a de-cat.

Actually having read this again it seems you want to remove the middle silencer, which again its a perfectly straight piece of pipe so cut the silencer at both ends remove and insert a new piece of pipe to weld in place
