Technical 6 speed gearbox

My mates 08 ducato Motorhome 2.3l 6 speed box its hard to get in gear and the stick is tight from side to side any ideas or faults I should look at its got 40000 mile on the clock I was going to replace the gearbox oil it is also hard to go into reverse sometimes

gear lever need lubricated
check in search (try google ducato linkage)
this is only from my memory
of reading it somewhere

There is also a pivot point on the top of the gearbox but a word of warning:

Next time I will lubricate the pivot with thin oil without dismantling!

If its right hand drive then the drain tube from the heater air intake is directed over the rear of the gearbox and gearchange mechanism. Turn the tube away and as Avee said lubricate the mechanism.

changed the gear box oil and put some oil on the linkage 100% better
+ moved the tube to 1 side
