General '54 plate Multipla onboard computer

The MPG reading in my multipla JTD 54 plate is not making sense, it is saying i only get 29-31 MPG around town and the same on a run but the range is giving around 600-700 miles???, any ideas, how accurate are the MPG readings on these cars.

Well the tank holds 13.5 imp gallons, my 2002 115 jtd averages 36-40 mpg measured brim to brim. The computer on mine nearly always reads 32 mpg no matter how I drive,so not really very accurate.

Have you had a read of the thread right at the top of the Multipla front page?

Yes and it seems there is no doubt i am not the only one with false readings, is it possible to get the computer recalibrated to get a more accurate reading, surely the MPG reading weren't so far out when the vehicle was new?

I've had 2 JTD's and am 'light footed' and don't live in an inner city. The 108 [low mileage and well looked after] one did 50[ish] and the 119 [high mileage and well looked after]did 45[ish.

I've never heard of anyone having the computer recalibrated for this, they have always had this issue. You will never know till you do a tank~to~tank.
