Looked at Fiat website and decided the 500S was what I wanted. Went to see one yesterday at our local dealer and the salesman showed me the Street model which looked different from the S. I asked about logo on seats and red gear knob as shown on the website but was told I could get the gear knob as an accessory. He never commented on the seats.
Is this a different model? Was the Street an old limited edition that he was desperate to sell me? Has the S replaced the Street? I told the salesman I don't need the car till beginning of October when my current contract hire finishes, so why would he try and push an old model? Hope you can clear up the differences between the Street and S models.

Basic difference between the 500S and the Street model is the American kit of the US model that gives it an Abarth look. The Street model had replaced the Sport model and initially only came with black alloys. Personally I have not made my mind up on the S model but seems popular in Black. On the Street model there was an option to get the Abarth look with side skirts and a black roof on the red and by diesel wheels in black & the strips on the bonnet.

What colour were you looking to get ?

Thanks for your replies. Seems crazy for the salesman to be pushing an old model when I was totally clear about not being able to take delivery till October! My wife is looking to get a red Colour Therapy (she also has a contact change in October) and I'm thinking of the blue in the S model.

It's crazy from your point of view, but common sense from the dealer's. Let's face it, the dealer only cares about himself, not you.

Having a little trouble with the fiat configurator. What blues are available on the 500S ? Is it the footloose blue ?
There was a nice indigo blue when the TA was being promoted.

Seeking out a different dealer for purchase of new cars, hopefully one that has some customer service skills and good product knowledge.
Interestingly, my wife has decided the colour she wants (red) for her Colour Therapy model and I know she won't change her mind. The blue I'm looking at is Footloose Blue but knowing what I'm like I'll change my mind countless number of times before final decision. Might even opt for red and then we can really be the Fiat Twins.

In the street edition there's no blue but according to this review in the 500S there' a Mediterranean blue. No idea what it looks like or if it's similar to the footloose.

The Street trim level (which replaced Sport and the short-lived TwinAir & TwinAir+ trims) was pretty limited on colour choices but it's gone in the UK now. Any Street's left will be old stock.

The S model which has replaced Street has a better range of colours and is a bit more of a sporty trim level than the previous offerings as it has the bodykit, flat-bottomed steering wheel etc.

The review above relates to the trim level as it is in other markets outside the UK which is why I think they mention Mediterranean Blue. This colour is available on the Panda Lounge but not on 500's. The blue on the 500 S model is Footloose Blue, which from what I can tell, is identical to the old Midnight Indigo Blue on the 500 byDiesel that was a limited edition a couple of years ago. It's a very nice colour that works well with the dark wheels and brushed chrome of the S trim.

Good to hear that me and my mrs wont be the only 'his n hers' 500's on here lol.
Ours are both BN White. A 1.2 lounge and a Twinair.

We couldn't decide between red or white but then we found the spec we wanted in stock in white and then a pre reg Twinair in white too so that decided it.

Thanks for clearing up that Liam. There has been a lot of chopping and changing on the blues on offer on the 500. The last blue I seriously looked at was the New Orleans Blue and it was too much. One member of here who had one commented that some confused his 500 with a Micra. On the 695 they have an Abu Dabhii blue which seems very similar and it was an extra £2500 over the Ferrari red of which there was only 99 built. It was also required a £10,000 deposit before they would take your order ! Of the colours that were offered on the 695 the blue did stand out.

Really appreciating all the help from everyone. Hate to say it but changing my mind on the colour and I might join my wife and get a red one.

Went to a different dealership today and managed to see a 500S...most impressed!! I've still to see the car in Footloose Blue and Electroclash Grey before deciding but looking more and more like it's going to be a red one :)

Do you like the black roof option? I think it goes really well with the 500S.

Haven't seen the black roof on any car yet but agree that it should go well with the S and especially if I stick with a red car, which seems most likely. Now contemplating 16 inch alloys after seeing them on a car at the dealers yesterday plus, the way I drive, having wider tyres always helps.

A picture of a Twin Air with the Abarth pack (no longer available) here with the black roof and this is the start of the thread with another Twin Air.

The 16 inch diesel wheels work better with it than the 5o-spoke black alloys and note than the rear spoiler is longer and off the A500.

On the 500S the standard 15 inch alloys are the best to-date in 15 inch but the over sized 16 look better. Abarth ones might be an option since the new ones are slightly darkened.

If one was buying a Ferrari & one goes for a different coloured roof it falls into the bi-colour option and it costs a cool $18K.

When I went to order my 500s my dealer tried to sell me the street from stock which was a quicker delivery but I preferred the S and was willing to wait, he told me the S was going to replace the street and you would not be able to get one once they have gone from stock.

Liked the standard wheels on the S model, think the darker alloy with the red insert looks great. Hoping I can get almost identical look and colour in 16 inch version. Would rather not have shiny black or normal alloy, so may still end up with the standard ones......wish I was an easier customer and didn't change my mind all the time
