Hello,
I have a Burstner Campeo campervan on a 2020 Fiat Ducato L4H3 Maxi 2.3 140hp with the stock alternator - Bosch 150A ( 5802407293) and a configurable DC2DC charger/booster.

Does anyone know which is the maximum safe current that can be drawn without any damage to the alternator even on idle? Now is set on the lowest value - 45A, but it can be set up to 70A.

An excellent question, and I wish I knew as well. I do hope someone from inside the alternator manufacturer business can give an answer to this. I have never been able to find any alternator specification sheet that nominates the maximum CONTINOUOUS current. The only specifications provided are the maximum PEAK output at idle and mid RPM. The internal heat generated by high continuous current is the limiting value and the current at this point should be part of the specification.
