Generally on most vehicles after battery disconnected, for at least 30 minutes to discharge capacitator, the hardest bit is releasing the airbag clips behind steering wheel, however once access to steering wheel nut is obtained centralise steering wheel, slacken the nut, but leave it on a few threads, then pull firmly on steering wheel with both hands, if tight usually a rocking motion does the job , this is the reason to leave the nut on so you don't smack yourself on the nose with the steering wheel.
Once it is released, but still on splines mark the exact position with "Tippex" or similar so not out of align when refitted.
The same with clock spring make sure it is in middle of movement position when fitting new one.
