It's currently my daily
**##?**^#?!!

After all that hard work, I don't think I'd have the heart to take it out in the rain, never mind anywhere near a salted road. I'd be thinking more in terms of either sunny summer days (if anyone can remember those!!), or a dehumidified garage. That front intercooler looks particularly vulnerable to salt spray.

And well done. This is the kind of project that many here dream about, but very few actually accomplish. Great pics, too!

Car is meant to be used. I did the sills recently and the intercooler can be replaced if needed. More worried about the many, many sets of tyres i'm about to go through

Absolutely agree, no point doing a car up to be not used you see these "trailer queens" in most car clubs where owners are scared to drive them.

How much torque (Nm)? That is what you feel (and eats the tires)
My abarth has 300 Nm and in the wet it's easy to get the wheels to spin.

Depends what gear you are in, and all the gearbox/diff ratios.

Current running 172 and 275 as we had an intercooler issue and mapped it back down. It's going for the full monty next week but it should reliably make 200 and 300.

It's running a full comp set up, so the subframe, struts, springs and of course the c510 box. Tyres are ps3's which are about as good as you can get and they struggle initially....

The C510.5.21 gearbox was drag raced at 420nm+ of torque without problems (official is 300nm)

The driveshafts normally broke first

At 450nm the differential use to occasionally bust

The 300nm is also the official number for the C514

In the real world I'd expect a similar 420

Official figures also depends where you look, the same gearbox is often quoted differently depending on application, might depend on other factors like weight of car

They have been drag raced hard for decades with very few failures

Warranty claims

Fitted to different engines with different outputs

I don't know

But

There's been several that have done 1/2 million miles, in the 1.3 diesel lugging weight around and have never been touched

I had two just under and over the 200K mark

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the torque rating

Especially as it's no big job to change compared to all the hard work already done
