Technical 2008 1.6 multijet 105 EGR

Fiat dealer refused to give me part number.

Hi all,

I have done a search and have been reading all morning but cannot find a definitive answer. I hope somebody can help.

I am having problems with my car and I believe it stems from the EGR Valve. What I would like to do is buy a brand new one to replace one on the car and then clean old one to keep as a spare, never know when it will come in handy.

Now apparently if you buy from GM then it is usually a 3rd of the price so the other threads suggest but I cannot find anywhere, a part number for the Bravo 1.6 Multijet 105 bhp EGR valve, all the threads I have read are for 120 or the 1.9cc engine.

Can anyone advise please?

Just to add. Got timinig belt, aux belt and waterpump changed last week, also had service plus as listed in Fiat service book done at same time. Could anything done here cause the problem of EML, apart from that, intermittent (very) juddering at around 2000 rpm.

Where can I get a workshop manual for the car too please?

(can I suggest to blank the EGR, and have it delete by a chiptuner from the ECU...?? I have to be carefull about this, Greenpeace members are reading this too...:devil

That's one of the bad effects of an EGR....it causes "gunk" all over the inlet traject...

I have another idea.

Who is local to East Northants and wants to earn a bit of money. Will pay someone to come round, remove egr, clean and replace.

Anyone up for that?

Should be on the back of your inlet manifold, mine a 1.6 multijet, your might look a liitle different, but mine has a small bolt holding it in and has a black connector.

Hi and thanks for reply. I shall have a look tomorrow for that. Here is a real stupid question but how do you remove the connectors with the yellow clip, I pulled the yellow clip back but then could not unclip the connector.

Push the yellow clip outwards with a thin screwdriver then press the black securing clip in and pull the connector out, if I remember correctly. Just be very very careful cleaning it

I decided to contact CAB to ask what my rights were. Acording to them I am entitled to have my car repaired FOC under the new Consumer Act 2015, so bearing that in mind I have written the car dealer a letter, have added it here. Let me know what you think:

The dealer will probably not respond, and will think "that's one less annoying costumer..."
Again, just delete the EGR, or have it delete by a chiptuner, and you'll never have to worry about it again ( don't forget to manualy blank the EGR as well..)

Anyone with a little technical skills can do this, it's all straight foreward, so every local garage ,workshop or even friendly neighbour would be fine..

Hahaha, I would give it a go myself but I cannot even see where it is located on the engine.
