Hi. I've got a Nov 2005 2.2JTD - just done 78,000km and I bought it new. The car's been serviced by Fiat and I live in Germany.
Yesterday the Engine Control System warning light came on, accompanied with a substantial loss of power. I completed my journey (100km) but kept my speed to 100kph.
This morning the warning light was out, and engine power seemed normal. However driving home on the motorway (350km) power seemed less that normal though not as bad as yesterday, when the warning light was lit.
About 5km from home I had a text warning that said something like: "The particle filter may be blocked" - the warning light was still off.
Also, and I dunno if this is related, the on-board navigation system has recently been giving problems. For example, the last few days the display has occasionally been very faint, and this morning is refused to complete the trip calculation?
Clearly I will be taking it to the nearest Fiat service tomorrow, but any info BEFORE that would be appreciated. The few experiences I've had with Fiat service have been, IMHO, unrealistically expensive.
Any suggestions?
Regards...
