Hello,

Is it possible to fit an 2.0 16V turbo fiat coupé enigine(or 2.0 20v i dont know if it is the same?) in a fiat punto?

Thanks,,

Iv asked this question and i got some mixed response, first of all it's possible but your going to loose all handling with it being a big engine, everything would need to be changed clocks loom gear box etc, big tax, i got told how about a 1.8 punto engine our of the HGT. people have dropped motorbike engines in the back extra convert it to RWD would be amazing

The 20V is heavy and not especially powerful. A 2 litre Alfa Romeo TS engine would be much the same weight as a Punto HGT engine but you will need ALL of the Alfa electronics and there will be a major headache with dash instruments. Personally, I would rather have the complete Alfa.

There is a bike engine conversion in the Punto section. It will have cost second mortgage money and lots of time and work. A less powerful bike engine could be front mounted but again dont expect it to be a cheap conversion.

The 20v is much wider than the 16v, so will need to front end widened and braced. I'm sure this conversion has been done, but i cba to trawl through and find it.
