anyone know any good sources for 16v sump,

most parts places are handing out cheap tin ones,

last one as lasted 11-12mth ish,

is there any decent ones out there that will last,

thanks inadvance,

trying to avoid mainagent if ican, the price for them there is shocking :(

I just bought a brand new sump for my Punti 8v Mk2 from Euro Car Care (google it, there only one!). I was pleased with their fast delivery. They usually ask for VIN for a 100% match of the part to your car.. Mick is a very dedicated, genuine person. Prices reasonable. Comms very fast (within few hrs)!

Another convert! Big Mick is a star, isn't he...? :worship:

Did you know, by the way, that (although I think you may have to make a small donation to the forum, first...) you can get a discount at Eurocarcare.net, as a member of the forum...?

i paint them with anything then grease them
they are always still in good condition when they come back for their half yearly inspection
not into spending money on unecessary frippary

You could always apply a healthy layer of JB weld across the whole front of the sump to add some extra thickness and then paint it?

In my experience, grease etc is not great, it just gets washed off on the road.

The sump is in a very exposed place. More modern cars might have a plastic under protector.

which get brittle and a good road jolt which happens alot with the beloved ""pot holes""
Driving on what left of the road, they snap and most people drive with them flapping or the missing

My mums has been missing for years! No problems but 8 years of protection and last 4 its not been a problem really

i use old pit grease
i guess it must be better than that noncy southern grease stuff yet i read londons drains are blocked by the stuff:confused:

anyways
it wont get washed off with normal driving
sometimes i wonder where you guys actually go in your cars

Or just follow my video I think the paint brushes were a pound the two tins of paint were £1.19 each a wire brush from the shed and a bottle of jenolite was £5-6, basically all done for under £10 and I took a look this week end gone, over a year later and it looks the same as the day I finished it
