Hi Hobbler,
Twas 2.3 as per the instructions. My oil pressure is that high it blew my oil cooler apart and has on couple of occasions it has blown the seal out between the oil filter and the housing.
Cheers

I have looked back through my correspondance with the main UK 'Classic'Abarth specialists (Middle Barton Garage) and THEIR instruction to me when I was planing to fit a "NANNI" external oil filter on the '695' engine that I am (slowly) buildg up, was to make that hole in the gear 'plug' 2.5mm. I know that is not a lot of difference, but it might make some. As an experiment, try connecting the pipe coming out of your red adaptor direct to the orifice in the top of the Timing-chain cover, (the plug where the oil is coming back from the oil-cooler) temporarily cuttting out the oil-cooler---this would tell you if the cause was associated with the cooler. Just as a matter of interest, why do you need an oil-cooler as well as the aluminium sump? Do you live in VERY hot climate?
