Another thing i'm wondering about is do i need to somehow uprate the oil pump? I'm going to take my turbo oil feed off of the oil filter housing, should I use the top or bottom hole? or either?

cheers

No the standard oil pump is fine

If your using a sandwhich plate it should be pretty self explanatory.. also have you considered a remote filter setup Emma's had this done on either her Cinq iirc

Gald you asked... one fo the last posts on the page

will need to have a word with Aaron/Emma and see if they would be so kind as to take some piccies for me of down near the oil filter etc. so i can get a proper idea of whats what, but it seems like an easy way to go for me!

Cheers again

Tbh it's what i'd go for if i was doing it all...

All this talk has got me itching to get my Y10 project on the go now

got the turbo exhaust flange made today, need to drill the exhaust pipe hole in it and attach the pipe next, 1.5" pipe i guess? any ideas where I can get the elbow to come off of the flange? To make this sort of thing https://www.fiatforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30904&d=1185470882

After this will be time for oil lines to be ran, getting them made up from stainless braided high temp hose with fittings on the end :) Will be using 1/2" for oil return, what size should i use for the oil feed to the turbo? I know it's def smaller than 1/2"

Thanks in advance :)

:D

LOL

Sooo moving swiftly on...........

the oil return goes to the sump, you have to either remove your sump and modify, or use another sump and modify that, tho will be tricky without turbo all hanging in place to see exactly where the return has to go.

By modifying sump, I mean you will have to cut a hole and weld a pipe to the sump leaving enough space between that and the oil return off the turbo so you can insert a small section of hose suitable for oil to join them.

The oil feed is taken off the bottom M18 1.5 take of below the oil filter, the top one can be used to run an oil pressure gauge as this is what i did. As uitable fitting is available from LMA from http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=LMA008

Thanks for the advice with the oil lines Aaron!

Got the exhaust flange hole drilled out today and picked up some 90 degree elbows, bored out a bit of steel on the lathe to join the 2 elbows, I'm off for a shower now but then i'll take some pics of what i've got so far so y'all can see :)

thanks again for all your ongoing help and support!
