With the good weather this weekend the top (from 9 -3 oclock positions) leather on my steering wheel has all blistered and bubbled up from being in the sun. is this a known issue? warranty?

I don't think the sun has to do with it.Mine sits in the sun for hours sometimes and it gets really hot over here ( 40 Celsius) and nothing is wrong with it.

take a picture beanyboper.

I bought a leather wheel for my Bravo and it was badly scuffed on the back I used black shoe leather restorer from wilkinsons for 99p and It looks like new now. Maybe some leather cream would stop the sun wreking it

good plan! i have some auto glym leather cream, might fix it, looks like dot cottons face at the moment.:p

Lol dont think i would pay £300 to have my wheel retrimmed by a "pro" its not a ferrari.

Why the inverted commas? £250 is reasonable. Wheels are a ballache to trim so about £175 of that is labour cost. Your right its not a ferrari if it was you would be looking at alot more than that.

Why don't you put covers over them?

Even a top or t-shirt... i always do if i have to leave my car out in the sun so the steering wheels not boiling.

Just meaning i would never spend that kind of money (e.g. a holiday) on getting my wheel retrimmed. id sooner just buy an aftermarket one or just live with the fact its blistered.

You can go on holiday for £300? If you go aftermarket then your easily breaking into the £300 once you factor in everything you need to get it fitted properly.

I have always treated mine to a leather cream every month or so. its still like new!

edit: i always park in the shade if i can too (i'm anal like that)
