I bought an android head unit. One of those Chinese units.

This one to be precise.

I have gotten it all working great and it links up to the phone no problem and even got the reverse camera working. I just need to wire it into the rear bumper but I cannot get the steering wheel controls working.

Anyone have experience with these units and how to get them to work?

The canbus unit that plugs into the headunit is branded simplesoft.

Here is what made it work for me.

Somewhere in head unit settings, you can set Canbus brand, car type, makeyear, option-level.
Canbus brand was set to "Simple" (SimpleSoft?), I changed to "Raise" and steering controls started working.

(My Canbus is also Simplesoft)
