Tuning Talk to me about throttle bodies

I've searched this one, but I'm still confused.

What I understand is:

Some Punto 60s have a bigger throttle body than the Cinq. Sporting.

But not all of them.

The only way to tell is to get your hands on the TB and look for a stamp telling you the size.

If you do find a bigger one (32mm? - not sure) - then it's just a straight swap for your original Cinq. TB?

Does that sum it up?

Lots of P60 TBs on eBay, but very few give you the size.

only if the TB is off a SPI modle if the throttle body like mine is off a Punto 75 then this throttle bosy is Mpi so isnt just a straight swap you need the injector (top section) from your old throttle body and put it on top of the P75 one

Yup I understand about the P75 TB, which is why I'm not looking at them (yet).

Was looking at SPI TBs from the P60 engine.

But all P60 are SPI

.

Yeah you got it bang on, looks for the stamp or measure the butterfly.

So, is it really a worthwhile mod? - given that it's not a massive increase in size.

Having no luck finding a P75 cam at the moment, too.

Work out the area increase (Pi) and you'll see its quite a difference, well worth it.

The difference in area between the 32mm and the 30mm is around 14%, so well worth the change.

I have two questions on this
does it give more power? if so then where in the rev range?

yes

and all across the rev range

think about it, its a bigger butterfly you're opening up at all times compared to standard

right im confused so standard TB's 30mm? and one that i should get being 32mm? but how do i no what one to get ?

your best bet is to go around a scrappy find a punto with 60 on the front wing take off the injector/TB in one then measure the bottom of the TB with a rule to see if it is 32mm

..
i could make a TB and bore everything out but its all to much hass..

I now have a 38mm SPI TB fitted to my Sei, I believe it comes from a Punto 75.

It makes hell of a difference.

BTW remember to get the spacer below the TB as well.

You can use the P75 TB just need the bottom half and slight boring out to match the cinq inkector bit top half. Craig on here has done this.
