Car is a Fiat 500 1.2 pop star 2016. Started engine today and the message "service 30dd" appeared for a second then disappeared. Couldn't find it again in menu, only appears as engine starts... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

My wife's showed the same a couple of months ago, even though it had been serviced, on schedule, last July. It was bought from a non-franchised dealer and I suspect they don't always reset the warning "clock". If you ignore it the message changes to something different when the service is "overdue", then goes away after another couple of weeks.

My wife's Pop has been displaying "Service Coupon Expired" for several weeks now since it clocked up 30,000km (it's now about 1200km over that). It's over five years old but has been serviced regularly. Since it doesn't get seen by FIAT dealers I suppose the message can't be reset?

I have seen a menu in MES which says “reset service coupon” so I guess you can reset it.

You certainly can reset using MES on the older cars.

As for the latest models, I've seen a rumour somewhere (not sure if it's true) that the service coupon can only be reset when the car is actually online to the manufacturer's server. If it is true, that will presumably make resetting such things a main dealer only option in future.

Another step backwards for the independent mechanic :bang:.

Following the "gas pumping" procedure in the link above certainly didn't work on my wife's 65 plate (facelift) 500C 1.2 - I tried it umpteen times. However, as I said above, we ignored it and it went away after a while. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly how long it took, but it was at least a couple of weeks after it thought the service was due.
