Ducato 1997 1.9 TD swift motorhome

Can you help please,I removed the battery for charging when i refitted it and switched on the ignition the Key Code light came on the dashboard and would not start does it require the key reprogramming? Although i wouldnt have thought just removing the battery would cause this can anyone help please
