Hi People,

Over the past few weeks I have been a bit busy with the cinq:
Fitted Rear Powerflex Suspension Bushes :D
Got my Radius Arms powder coated
Fitted new EBC Drums (had them powder coated) and Shoes
New Backplates, Brake Cylinders, Stainless Brakes Lines, New Copper Brakeline and new Handbrake Cable.
Undersealed the whole rear of the car as well, not sure if much underseal had been put on the car from new.

Anyway, here are the photos:

Love it, was Brian helping?

No actually

He was on his Holidays when I done most of this, he gave a hand with bleeding the brakes. He was away the same 2 weeks as my parents, so with me have a drive and two cars to myself I decided that I better get round to doing it. It would have been done earlier if it was not due to a few days of rain in the middle of the two weeks.

It does look brianesque but I salute you, shows what can be done with time and patience.

All Cinq modifying should be like this!

My earlier reply wasn't conveying what I meant really, you've done very good work in the style I like, taking time, thinking through stuff and knowing when to use professionals, didn't mean to belittle your work by referring to Brian.

sorry bit off topic but i noticed you got the powerflex bushes in....how easy was it to get old ones out and new powerflex in?? can you notice a difference??

I burnt all of the old rubber out, once the rubber was burnt enough it just pushed out with a screwdriver. But that leaves a metal insert that is fitted in tightly, to get this out I heated it up with a blow torch (that's what the black marks on the arms are from) while I had the whole arm in the vice and then while it was hot got a 30mm socket (that i had ran under the cold water) and lined it up wit the metal insert and hit it out. Inserting the new bushes was easy, you can start then by hand easy enough, then I used the vice to push them into the arm correctly.

Little tip, start the bush into the arm without the metal insert in first, once you get the bush started then start the metal insert into the bush and then clamp it all in the vice and tighten the vice up. Well thats what I did. Lots of copperslip as well.

I can notice a big difference, feels a bit more firmer over bumps, but not in a bad way. and not more knocking :D

Nice job, Dave. We might be in the cold old North-East but we know how to set a standard....
