Hi there. Just fitted an Xtrons head unit in our Fiat 500 2018 pop star. It had a very basic fm radio as standard. Now have the flashing odometer and wrong doors showing opened on the display. Can anyone help by letting me know, is it worth investing in the software and cables etc to try and do the proxy alignment myself and us it easy enough to do and what is likely overall cost. I checked the member directory and there is no one close by with the kit. I assume only other option is a fiat dealer or do independent garages generally have the software to fix? I always try and avoid main dealers after having my pockets hoovered by them too often in the past. Thanks for your help. Last post on this forum helped with some really good info.

Yes, definitely. MES is the perfect compliment for the fiat. You can gets lots of advice on the MES forum, and lots of help on here. It also means you can investigate at your whim, and not have to rely on appointments etc

You'll need a laptop, (or dongle and then bluetooth it to a local pc), main cable (to convert the low voltage pc signal to auto 12v), the adaptor for your car, and preferably the registered version of the MES software.

The engine ecu can be connected without an adaptor cable but the body, and other ecus need the adaptor cable.

I had the same issue with the door positions. My unit has the option to select driver's seat position which was set to left-hand side (opposite of my car). Once I changed that setting, it corrected itself.

Thanks for that. Now found the setting so at least the doors are correct. Now waiting on the kit coming to try a proxi alignment. 🤞
