Hi Guys,
My intercooler seems a little oily and I'm considering whether to remove it and clean it.
Has anyone done this and is it difficult to remove and do it.
From a quick look, I can't see any mounting bolts apart from the top mount with the rubber vibration buffer.
Any help gratefully appreciated
TIA

Please note that on my 2.8jtd the four hose clips close to the intercooler, the make/type of which I do not know, are not easy to remove. They appeared to be a use once construction. Not easy to remove in confined space. I recently removed the clips in preparation for other work, by tapping off the "C" shaped part, and then worrying at the joining area with pliers and wire cutters. Replacement was with stainless worm drive (Jubilee type) clamps. With care the new clips can be aligned so as to allow tightening/removal with suitable tool. If required, you would need clips capable for hoses upto 70mm diameter.

Hi, Thanks, I had a closer look today and realised the hose clips were the stupid use once and butcher to get off.
I cleaned up the oil that is seeping from one of the hoses and I'm going to leave it for now, just keep an eye on it.
I'm away over the water in a couple of weeks so I'll see to it over the winter.
It was the MOT tester (it passed) that spotted the leak and checked it wasn't diesel which would have been a fail.
I understand oil in the intercooler isn't that unusual, but I'm not sure if it's a sign of turbo wear or other trouble ahead ?
It actually doesn't look too bad a job to remove and clean, or replace the intercooler.
Have you had similar trouble

No, but if my vehicle was in the state shown in photos, which I believe were posted by you on another forum, I would not be happy. You should heed the advice given there.
