Hi Kikbak66,

Rachaeljf's absolutely right on all points.

The Club is a great place... great cars, great people, plenty of help when you need it ...

I'm joint Regional Organiser for the Northeast, so if you do join, you'd be in our area, and we'd love to meet you.

All I can say is... why not give it a try? If it works for you, that will be brilliant; if it doesn't, PLEASE tell us why & we'll do our best to help.

Cheers,

S.

Kikbak66,

I can tell you that there is nothing cliquey about the UK OC. All this stink has arisen from the actions of a particularly nasty troll on the forum just over a year ago. That troll nearly caused the meltdown of the forum at least, but the club remains as strong as ever. The three main complainants in this thread are from the same area of Scotland and are connected, innocently or otherwise, with the troll.

It is a great shame that this unpleasantness has lasted so long.

Cheers R

this is the second time you have mentioned this...i just want to put the record straight re:connections between scottish members.

i joined the club after the well publicised banning of dallara turbo, but was intrigued enough about the ongoing situation which was regularly referred to on the club forum at that time to enquire about what had happened. i never really got a straight answer on the subject. i approached cha40, whom i did not know at that time, to give my fiat 20vt coupe a service...and he did such a good..and cheap..job, that i have allowed him to look after it, and all the other cars iv owned since. so, its fair to say that i have, as a result of the x1/9 forum, met, and befriended a fellow fiat nut...cha looks after several scottish members cars and other vehicles as disparate as an 800hp skyline, my own m3 evo bmw, various old classics etc..etc..its always a pleasure going down to his wee garage to see what might be in that day!!..it seems though, that the scottish members are to be punished, or at least permantley have the cloud of suspicion hanging over their heads just because they choose to use a cheap, competent, knowledgeable mechanic..??

as for dallaraturbo...cha told me their side of the 'situation' regarding her banning from the site when i subsequently enquired, and, as ever, iv always assumed that the truth is bound to lie slap bang in the middle of both parties claims...i have never taken sides in this debacle as i dont know the ins and outs of the situation so dont feel qualified to comment. only thing i can remember posting on forum is that i was now using cha to service my cars and i couldnt see what all the fuss was about as he certainly seemed to be a very likeable guy who is passionate about his cars...

so, there is the timeline. as a result of my friendship with cha and of my posting of pictures of his and a brace of other members x1/9s outside his house, i am immediately banned with no warning or reasonable explanation, other than unfounded alegations. i am genuinely perturbed by this state of affairs , so have attempted to find out on another, welll respected fiat forum, ie this one..if any one else has had such treatment..and, by the sounds of things..they have, be it by similar bannings or intractable and archaic rules governing the sharing of information about our belved wee exxies..

last thing i wish to say to you is that i find the suggestion that i may be a puppet, or acting on behalf of ANYONE never mind a woman who i have met about twice and spoken less than a handful of words to incredibly laughable..what kind of person is this dallaraturbo that she can control and manipulate the minds of us mere mortal men with such ease, and presumeably by esp or other similar psychic powers!!??..jesus, im a 20st weightlifter and martial artist with scars all over his head and hands like shovels who runs a very succesfull security company...im not the kind of person who does what he's told with ease or alacrity..im a member of very many forums, car related and otherwise, and, at the risk of bein repetitive, am my own man...i genuinely have no interest in cha, or dallaraturbos problems with the x1/9 club... their problems with the club are, just that, their own...although i will admit, since my immedate banishing to the fiat hinterlands by these faceless internet bullies, i am more inclined to believe, well, ANYONE, rather than accept official reasoning from the don curlywurly x1/9 plastic gangster mafiosa..

.jeeez, iv never been banned from a club since the incident with the baseball bat in '98 haha...

Ok peeps,,, your totally right, you have to give every thing a chance.

Just to reiterate, I have no opinion one way or the other to the x1/9 club, I have no experience to have an opinion, just incase my comments have been miss read. :)

I wanted to say that in my time with clubs, thats what I found.
I joined my first car club @ 14, MG club, the funny thing is I never then or since owned one...... but I liked them...... I have been a founder member of a club, and served on a committe of a club, ( not cars ) I am, as all, I'm sure, just want to enjoy the cars and meet and make friends with others with a common interest............. " one life live it " which is a bit of a clue to another interest. If I can help any one in need I will ..... Any way maybe I will meet some of you guys .............

Hey George - thanks for the kind words above.

The only thing that I struggle to understand in all this is (forgive me for directly quoting you) :

i joined the club after the well publicised banning of dallara turbo

i approached cha40, whom i did not know at that time

its fair to say that i have, as a result of the x1/9 forum, met, and befriended a fellow fiat nut...cha

How did you meet Cha40 through the X1/9 OC - he has never been a member of the club and his other half, dallaraturbo, was no longer a member when you joined.

I'm just a bit perplexed by this. I'm sure it's obvious and I'm just being blind

2 posts both only promoting another site, thats as bad as people putting up the password

Read the first post. The OP asked for feedback on a particular Fiat related club. That's what he got. We have not promoted any club or forum over any other.

This thread started in the X1/9 forum and has now been moved to the Clubs forum. Are you saying that whatever the topic/context we are only allowed to mention/praise the Fiat Forum? You made no comment about the negative comments regarding the "enemy" site. Your attempt at suppression of fair discussion is as bad as "only promoting" what you seem to see as an enemy forum/club.

Biggbn,

Thank you for expanding on your earlier posts and for your civil response to my provocative comments. It does indeed seem you may have been an unfortunate "victim." I won't post what has been written in the X1/9 OC forum about the matter, suffice to say there was much discussion and soul searching within the committee and the vote to "ban" Dallaraturbo was not unanimous.

Scottish members have not been victimised either. It is just three (ex)members from a particular location, with a common connection; the location happens to be in Scotland. Another potential member has been put off by someone's poor telephone manner it would seem. That's a pity. Maybe an X1/9 OC committee member will read this and make some attempt to rectify these situations (hint hint).

I'm wondering if/when macmario will pipe up. I do believe them to be a sock.

Cheers R

My aim was to defend the Club, but if I've inadvertantly promoted it, that's great (y)

(I've looked at this site many times before, but never registered till now.)

Are we all friends now then :)

Thats now, then?

and not the northern term "nowthen"

"12 months on and still the “Dallaraturbo” knife keeps turning she must be really proud of all her hard work!

HI Mark, Guess what, this has nothing to do with me, had no idea this thread even existed until this evening, ( I have bigger issues in my life, bringing up my disabled daughter is one off them, not looking for sympathy). I was actually suprised to find that I had joined this Forum recently (cha gets his firsts slap), Any collaboration on this, has come from the 'Three Amigos'.

Rachel:- Heaven knows what I have done to upset you!!!! No hard feelings, all the best, Nice to know that all the x1/9 owners club members are all thinking off me.

I'm just a bit perplexed by this. I'm sure it's obvious and I'm just being blind

if you recall, when i joined i mentioned that i was looking for an x1/9 and mentioned that there was a widebody asbo orange one in my home town..that opened the can of worms re:dallaraturbo and i was informed that it would maybe be for the best not to bring up this car or the banned members...i may even have had an explanation from yourself re:this subject..or another grand fromage??) if you recall, i said i was intrigued by all the cloak and dagger goings on, and in my eyes, another fiat nut in my area would be a valuable contact. i then found out that cha had a garage and approached him about servicing my 20vt and got all the juicy x1/9 gossip. haha...it was all well over a year ago so apologise if im vague about all the details, but i can assure you that i did indeed meet cha (and once or twice, jacqui, thru, if not directly, thru the x1/9 club)...and well met..he's saved me..and others..a fortune haha

as others have said, lets get on, yeah??..my being summarily banned on the suspicion of basically guilt by association still rankles and seems like rough justice. i remember through m ti e on the forum that there seemed to be alot of internecine squabbling about many subjects, national meeting being one of them, with members threatning to quit if they didnt get their own way..you may recall, i was the voice of reason on this subject too, indeed, the thread was, surprise surprise, deleted, but you had the good grace to answer my query as to why...like i said, one f the good guys...

suffice to say, if your 'in' the club, i guess your ok..accepted...but if your a newbie from north of the border, i feel your application will be received with suspicion and if you are accepted into the fold it will be grudgingly, if at all...i certainly will never recomend this club to any fiat owner ...which i feel really is a sad state of affairs....surely all us fiat fans should all be singing from the same songsheet and have a common goal..our cars??!!

anyhoo. wether yer an x1/9 oc member or a fiat nut with no affiliation, feel the love people, feel the love..lifes to short for stress, iv put this whole subject to bed in my head now, and im just gonna get on with enjoying my cars....as groucho marx famously said, i wouldnt want to join a club that would have me as a member anyway...!!

we have meets all over the place and everyone is welcome :)

check out the events section https://www.fiatforum.com/events/

Dave, your smiley might change somewhat after dallaraturbo's rummaged through your internet history and had a few pops at your personal life!

Jacqui, first impressions count for a lot. You made a lasting first impression. I asked you a question about your car but you didn't reply. I and several other X1/9 OC members defended your right to free speech, which gave you an extra lease of forum life, but your persistent trolling went too far sadly.

Cheers R

this thrad was intended to be about the club, not the personalitys.. i appreciate my banning, which is what i was trying to find out about, appears, some way down the line to be conected to dallaraturbos, but can we keep personal attacks out of this..this is another, friendly forum and although i will admit i have 'attacked' the moderators and comitee of the x1/9 club, i have not made any personal attacks on individuals....can i attempt to inject a little reason and sensibility to this thread??....

jeez, maybe i should learn to leave cans of worms unopened in the future...

Since several x1/9 Owner Club Members have commented on this posting, I have a couple of questions to you all:-

Why were these two pictures recently removed from your Forum?

Was it the car or was it Jacqui,'The East Coast Renegade' ie Dallaraturbo? :):D;)

These pics apparently incited controversy ????????

jeeeesus cha..tread carefully there fella....dontcha know that posting pictures of fiats...rare fiats at that...is the kind of insensitive, controversial and rabble rousing behaviour that can see you banned from a fiat forum...???.....i applaud your bravery in posting those pictures and can only hope that the moderators here dont take such a dim view of such actions...(y)

ok getting a bit fed up of this, its their site they have their own rules, i asume like on here they also have a way to contact the site owner if you are un happy with the staff enforcement of them rules.

if you dont like a site/club then just find one you do like :) no need to go on an on about how good or bad another one is
